Florida Panthers goaltender James Reimer is expected to miss at least two weeks with a groin injury, Panthers head coach Bob Boughner announced on Thursday.
“(Reimer) pulled his groin the other night,” Boughner said. “Had an MRI yesterday. He’s going to be out probably a couple of weeks at least.”
Reimer started 17 consecutive games and 18 of 19 games after Roberto Luongo sustained a lower-body injury in December.
“We’re facing some adversity as an organization,” Boughner said of the injuries (h/t NHL.com).
“There’s only two ways to go: obviously feel sorry for yourself or the other way. You’ve got to find a way to come together as a team and manage our game in order for us to get a couple of points.”
Panthers’ goaltender Harri Sateri is expected to make his second NHL start against the Washington Capitals on Thursday.
